Isn't knowing they could be out there half the thrill of exploring? The only surest way to avoid reapers is to uninstall Subnautica. If he's not down in the deep, just hang back and wait for him to dive down there. Not that it's too much harder taking a little extra swim time to the front - go during the day time and stay near the surface the Reaper is almost always much further down near where it gives way to the abyss, and it's easy to just seaglide right over him without him noticing you. It wouldn't really make sense to put a ton of important stuff in it and then give a real easy to access free entrance into it. I always figured that entrance was temporary, especially given that it seemed they had plans for the Aurora in the long term. They seem to want to force a linear style of gameplay onto people, which is sad. Why put it there in the first place if they didn't want people using it? Within two days they released a patch that sealed over the hole and forced everyone back down the reaper's gullet, pretty much just to be dicks as far as I can tell. Nice guide though.Ī while back I wrote a similar guide on how to get into the Aurora engine room without having to encounter any reapers via a hole in the side of the hull. You can check the Building a Seatruck page for detailed instructions.I dunno why they'd patch it out, that's pretty much the intended method. Remember that most vehicles like the Seatruck, its modules, and the Prawn Suit require a mobile Vehicle Bay or Modification Station to build. Check the table below for common items you'll need to craft, and which minerals and resources are required to make them. Looking for various tools, deployables and equipment recipes for crafting in Subnautica: Below Zero? We've got you covered. You could also create multiple bases in various locations to make mining resources or finding the Void Chelicerate much easier. You may wish to beat the game in Survival Mode, then go wild building a huge home base in Creative Mode. You can also learn more about specific upgrades on the How to Build the Prawn Suit Drill Arm page.įor more info on building a base, visit the How to Build a Base page. You can learn more about each by visiting the Bulding a Seatruck and Building a Prawn Suit pages. Once you have deployed your Mobile Vehicle Bay (which will float on the surface above wherever you deploy it), you are ready to build your Seatruck and Prawn Suit. You will need to go deep into these caves it's easiest to use your Scanner to search for outcrops. If you haven't built a Mobile Vehicle Bay before, the recipe recipe requires one Titanium Ingot, Lubricant and a Computer Chip.Ĭomputer Chips require gold, which is most easily found in Calverite Outcrops in the same aquatic cave system know as the Arctic Kelp Caves you previously hunted for silver. You must build the vehicle bay then collect the ingredients needed for each vehicle. Most vehicles are crafted using the Mobile Vehicle Bay, such as the Prawn Suit and Seatruck. You can always pin a recipe to your PDA so that you can see which ingredients you have and which you don't, allowing for faster progress.
